I'm so glad to see all of you here tonight. Because I don't think I command enough of your attention from 9-5 every day, I'm going to force you to listen to a long-winded speech.
No, but I actually just want to thank you all for your incredible work this year. Maybe not individually, because I want to let you get back to the fun, but every single one of you deserves praise. You have worked hard to keep this company successful. In big ways, like the way Mark and Louisa put in two weeks of overtime to finish the ABC Project in time for the deadline. And in little ways, like the way Cheryl brought in snacks every day to boost people's spirits or the way Daniel treated his tired coworkers to coffee.
I have noticed and appreciated the efforts that you have made to keep the team together and to keep the day running smoothly. You are all wonderful employees.
To all the spouses who made it out tonight, I would also like to thank you for your patience and understanding when it comes to your partners' work. Your support has helped them turn the highest profit this company has had in the last seven years. Your forgiveness for late nights and tired or grouchy attitudes has helped us land a contract with the XYZ Corporation, which will in turn create dozens of new jobs within the company.
To the children here tonight, I want to tell you that your moms and dads are some of the greatest people around. They are honest, hard-working, and loyal. They are the kind of parents you should all be very proud of and strive to imitate.
Finally, I would like to welcome the two new members of our staff, Jerry and Lisa. You've probably already seen the pictures of Lisa's grandchildren vying for room with the spreadsheets all over her desk. You can tell she knows the truly important things in an accountant's life: a close family and correct equations. Jerry has joined on as the head of the Party Planning Committee and if you want to see what he's accomplished so far, just take a look around! Wow!
Finally, I would like to thank our partners at 123 Company, for their generous sponsorship tonight.
Well, that's about it. I know that so much effusive appreciation sounds like the punch talking, but I mean every word with absolute sincerity. So let's all raise our glasses to this wonderful team: to your tremendous successes this last year, and to even greater times in the New Year!
